Kate Mosshas been a style icon before the internet was the Internet was the Internet, but at 40 years old, she hasn't lost her model spark. While most would celebrate their 40th with an intimate fiesta with friends, Kate celebrated by stripping down for the cover of Playboy's 60th anniversary issue.
Playboy, much like Kate, has aged with absolute grace.
Mother Monster was tapped as the cover girl for the latest issue of the always over the top Candy Magazine, which is dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transsexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, so it's pretty much about time they snagged the LGBT-lovin' Gaga for a cover role.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and after recent photos of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s Bizzy Bone surfaced online the story making the rounds was that the Cleveland native was on drugs or sick or both. According to Bizzy neither rumor is true.
“I’m perfectly healthy. Everything is lovely. I’m probably the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life,” says Bizzy.
Tamar Braxton has done it again. The loudest Braxton sister of them all released her new single, "All The Way Home" off her highly anticipated album, "Love And War," due out September 3rd. When we tell you #TeamBeautiful can't wait for that album, that's nothing less than an understatement. Tamar's been having the best 2013 ever!
On December 22, 2011 I walked into my mother in-law’s master bedroom bathroom and cut all of my permed ends after transitioning since June 2011. That was the beginning of my natural hair journey. The first time anyone saw my hair (outside my immediate family) was on Christmas Day (a few days later).
Wow!!!!! That was the first thing I said after I cut, trimmed, washed, deep conditioned, and styled my hair. It was short and very easy to maintain. I barely ever had to deep condition. The t.w.a. phase was great for me. I adapted to my hair easier than I was expecting to. I was expecting the worse! Thankfully I experienced something different. As the months passed, I noticed more thickness than length. Instead of getting longer and longer, my hair was getting thicker and thicker. That was crazy! I had to learn an entire new way to shampoo my hair. There was NO way I could pour shampoo on the top of my head anymore. That was a disaster. It took forever to get all that shampoo out of that ONE spot. Also this was the time that I noticed my many different hair textures. I have more fine defined curls around my edges, loose wavy curl in the top, kinky wavy in the middle, and kinky curly texture in the back. So….I have to distribute my products different in those sections. Needless to say, I learned a lot about my hair in just the first 4 months. That was very helpful for the problems to come from length and thickness.
Woooooh chile!!! This was a frustrating couple of months for me. When my hair grew with that thickness, I had to learn how to keep my hair stretched. The t.w.a. phase will make you lazy if you don’t watch out. You get used to just putting a silk bonnet on your hair at night and going to sleep. Well when your hair gets longer, you have to think about shrinkage and keeping the length stretched out as much as you possibly can. That is very important to keep that full volume. Volume is the key to a fly fabulous curly kinky afro. Different things I did to achieve this are: Braided sections, twisted sections, chunky puff plaits, and chunky flat twists.
Throughout this year, I stayed away from all of the high-profile natural hair products. I didn’t want to get caught up in all the variety. There are so many different companies and products. I wanted to focus on learning my hair first. I opted to stick to simple, inexpensive products. I only have one product that I consider a splurge. To get a more detailed list of My Staple Products click on my Hair Diaries page. As I enter into the next year, I want to learn more about styling. I am researching like a nerd. For now, I am enjoying my length. I don’t really know my actual length, I haven’t measured. There has been an evident growth success in the first year. It makes me excited for years to come. I’m elated with my kinky curly mane. I call my hair “she’!!!!
