The makers of the college entrance exam taken by millions of students each year have announced a series of sweeping changes to be made in the test. Teenagers have their educators and families to thank for the overhaul. Both parties have been raised ongoing concerns about the relevancy of standardized tests to high school teachings and the expensive test preparation process. College Board President David Coleman has criticized the test for “become disconnected from the work of our high schools.”

On the late night of December 12, 2013 the loyal fan base “The Beyhive” started to get buzz about the “Creole Goddess” Beyonce releasing a new project. Little did we all know that it would be released that same night!!! I was getting ready for bed. My husband and I were doing a little pillow talk when I picked up my phone to check twitter. I saw a few retweets referring to Beyonce, but I didn’t click on any because everyone is always talking about anything that she does. Therefore, a new album was the furthest from my mind. I was thinking (like many other fans) that since Beyonce announced during the holiday that she would be extending her current world tour “The Mrs. Carter Show” through the beginning of 2014, the new album would come after the world tour was done. To our surprise she released a 15 second video on instagram announcing her 5th studio album was available for exclusive download on iTunes. She also released 17 previews of all the visuals to accompany the 14 audio tracks on her YouTube page.
I immediately picked up my laptop and downloaded the album. I was so anxious to get the album, I purchased the clean version instead of the explicit. Needless to say, I had to get the explicit version as well. Here are two videos Beyonce released giving more detail about: BEYONCE ‘The Visual Album’
Here a few previews for my top favorite visuals on the album…
If you do not already have the new album from Beyonce, please make sure to purchase on iTunes, http://smarturl.it/beyoncevisualalbum
Or you can purchase the hard copy in your local Wal-Mart and Starbucks, as well as your local music retailers.
BEY SEASON IS BACK IS SESSION!!!!!!
This year I have attempted to step out of my comfort zone with colors and make-up. In the past, nude shades were mainly what I wore. With the recent craze over bold lips, now was a great time to try. Not only did I try…I fell in love! I thought having smaller lips would be a problem for color so I was always afraid to go there. That is a thing of the past. I have been trying different shades, undertones, and finishes of lipsticks. After a lot of misses along the way, I have found some solid inexpensive drugstore lipsticks.
Wet N’ Wild: Wine Room (906D) & Spotlight Red (911D) **Wal-Mart ($2)
These lipsticks are very pigmented with a matte finish. They are great without any liner or gloss. These are my go to when I want a great pop of color without all the add-on and fuss with liners and gloss. Since they are very pigmented, a little goes a long way. One application is enough for my lips.
E.l.f. Cosmetics: Gipsy **elfcosmetics.com ($1)
This lipstick is a great option on the days I want a great pop of color but not too bold. I like to wear my ‘BBQ’ lip liner by MAC Cosmetics along with this lipstick. The combination gives me a great nude with undertones of pink. Love it!
N.Y.C. (New York Color): 320 (Mahogany) 304 (Mocha) **Wal-Mart ($2)
The two of these lipsticks are great combinations as well as stand alone options. The Mahogany color is the biggest lipstick risk I have taken of them all. It’s a very awesome color. Although my lips are small, the color is great on lips and against my skin tone. They are both a sheen finish, but they are not heavily glossy. They keep your lips moisturized for a great amount of time.
Here is a pic of me wearing the N.Y.C. (New York Color) in 320 Mahogany
